Mr Fusion Base (Singer Librascope) – Resin

DTMProps is proud to announce the release of its 8k ABS resin printed Mr Fusion base. This base has all of the accurate details of our Aluminium base, but is much lighter and more cost effective. The DTMProps Mr Fusion Base represents over 120 hours of CAD design work using measurements taken from 3D scans of the Base, Lid and Latch from the Mr Fusion base removed from the A-Car pre-restoration. Every detail has been accurately reproduced to the point where the 3D scans can be overlaid on our CAD designs with no visible differences.

Some features of the base:

• Temperature resistant to over 100c.
• Shatter-proof – Unlike most 3D prints, this will not break if dropped
• CNC Machined Aluminium T-Bar for an authentic look
• No ‘infill’, so the parts that are meant to be solid are solid.
• Weighs a reasonable 7lbs.

 

Origins of the Mr Fusion base:

The Mr Fusion Home Energy Reactor is second only to the Flux Capacitor as one of the most recognised props on a Delorean Time Machine. Originally built from a heavily modified Singer Aerospace Librascope cap and a hand-made lid and topped with the well known Krups Coffee Grinder, Mr Fusion has always been a big hit with BTTF fans.
